MORE ON THE SPEAKER

Fred first joined ASNT as a corporate member with Stone & Webster in 1974. With 32 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, inspection, and NDE he has provided services to utilities, transit agencies, government agencies, military agencies, railroad agencies, construction industry and highway departments. He has managed NDE training operations and developed specialized customer courses to ASME Code, Military Standards, AWS, API and aerospace standards.
As the Principle Investigator, he developed the National Highway Institute Course 13023 NDT Methods for Steel Bridges which was developed to identify new developments in NDE equipment, methods as they apply to steel bridges. He has held previous AWS welding inspector certification and New York State DOT Certification in Ultrasonics.
As a committee member, he participated in the development of INPO guidelines for the training and certification of NDE Inspectors.
As Manager Inspection Training and Corporate Level III for Shaw/Stone & Webster he manages the QC/NDE training and certification program, provides NDE contractor oversight, conducts shop and field inspections and provides NDE expertise in support of engineering investigations. He also reviews and approves Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) for various Stone and Webster Projects.
He is familiar with domestic and international NDE certification standards and programs, was a member of ASNT?s ?National Certification Board? from 1991-1997, and is presently chairman of ASNT's Certification Management Council (CMC) which directs and administers ASNT?s National Certification Programs.
Fred holds a Bachelors Degree from Northeastern University and is an ASNT Professional Level III Certificate #25978 in RT,UT, PT, MT, and Visual.

TECHNICIAN?S NIGHT

Central Certification is of vital importance to Technicians who want to advance in the field of Nondestructive Testing. If you have not attended a meeting all year, this is the one to put on your calendar! The Section wishes to extend an invitation at a reduced price to those practicing Technicians interested in the subject. The price of the meeting to those qualified will be $13.00. Those interested should RSVP as soon as possible.

THE SOCIAL HOUR IS BACK !!

The social hour, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM will be in the Old Chicago Lounge. Upon check-in with Fred Klock, a ticket will be given to each person good for one beer or glass of wine. An area will be reserved exclusively for our group.

SPRING SOCIAL
The May social is a joint venture with ASMI Philadelphia Chapter. It is on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Old York Road Country Club near Spring House, PA. It will cost $50.00 per person and includes four hours of top shelf open bar, butlered hot and cold hors d?oeuvres, a DJ for dancing and a choice of Oven Roasted Prime Rib of Beef or Filet of Flounder Stuffed with Crabmeat The time is set for 6:00 to 11:00 PM. Driving directions will be published later. There will be door prizes and the typical donation from sponsors is $225 each. (We are still looking for donations!) You can make reservations with Fred Klock and send checks made out to Philadelphia chapter ASMI.
